Our humanness naturally predisposes us to vulnerabilities and it is in those vulnerabilities that resilience may be cultivated. There are times, however, when we are filled with uneasiness, meaninglessness, unhappiness and/or uncertainty and our struggle seems unbearable. Undoubtedly, life presents us with challenges and I firmly believe these can be transitory circumstances that can reawaken us by opening up opportunities for our attainment of greater self-awareness and deeper and more meaningful sense of our authentic selves, of gratitude, courage and resiliency and of preparation for meaningful change, growth and sense of freedom. I graduated with a master of science degree in Applied Psychology (Counseling specialty) via University of Calgary in 2001 and had been a registered psychologist since 2003 year. I have since worked in hospital, community and private practice settings. My interest areas are trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression and grief. I use an integrated counseling therapeutic approach, incorporating principles of Existential Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy within a trauma informed, developmental, relational and cultural framework. This framework enables me to more thoroughly and respectfully understand one's experiences, responses/adaptation and change(s) sought and to provide responsive support accordingly. Population interest is persons aged 16+ years. If experiencing challenges and considering reaching out for counseling support, I would be honoured to join you in your journey with compassionate listening, understanding and responsive support.
